Soccer: Inter Miami introduce Argentine forward Lionel Messi to cheering fans
Thousand of fans at Inter Miami's DRV PNK Stadium cheered as the MLS club introduced Argentina’ forward Lionel Messi.

Messi quit French club Parsi St. Germain after appearing in 75 matches in two years and scoring 32 goals. His contract with the club came to an end in 2023. He is most likely to play for Inter Miami in their League Cup inaugural match against LIGA MX side Cruz Azul on 21 July.
Responding to the cheering crowd, Messi thanked them and said that he shared their desires. He said that he wanted to start training, to play, to compete. He also said that he had the same desire as earlier to want to play and help the club continue to grow.
World’s number one forward will join the defensive midfielder Sergio Busquets. Both the players have played together for Barcelona. Messi will also join former Barca and Argentina manager Gerardo Martino.
He was introduced to the supporters of the club as was introduced as “America's number 10, the world's best number 10”. Those who welcomed Messi included Inter Miami co-owner English footballer David Beckham, who said that signing the Argentine superstar was a dream come true. Inter Miami's owner, American billionaire Jorge Mas was also present and called Messi "the best player ever to don boots".
Messi’s joining the U.S. club is considered a great deal as it has been reported that Saudi Arabian club Al-Hilal offered Messi USD 1.5 billion fo three years.
