The comedian hosting the show 'Weekend Update' on SNL for the last 8 years, Michael Che put rumours of him leaving the show to end with an update on Instagram. On his handle, he wrote, "I'm not leaving SNL".

It was during the show in Minneapolis that Michael Che had in between the lines passed the message to the audience about this year being his last on the long running 'Weekend Update' he co-hosts with Colin Josh on SNL.

'It was a joke', clears Che, as he shows his absolute intentions of staying put as the lead writer and anchor. He made it to the books of SNL as the first black co-head writer when he and Colin stepped to the show's lead writing team in 2017 as put forward by Vice. Michael replaced Cecily Strong in 2014 as the new partner in update with Jost and ever since the two of them have been quite a hit for the audience.

Urging the audience to not pay heed to the words said in the light of fun and games, he believes it is just an act of 'spoiling the tricks'. His message clearly wants the audience to stop running away to conclusions basis the words said in good humour.

Che had casually talked about his formal fits, which quickly turned into a fire.

Not just Michael Che, more often than not, other stars of SNL like Pete Davidson, and Cecily Strong have also been hinting at their news of scooting the show, with no record of following up with these comments. With other ventures Michael has taken up outside of SNL, he for once makes sure to be there on time to heat the seat next to Colin every weekend with another humour licked update.
