US actor Megan Hilty lost her sister and brother-in-law, who were on the floatplane that crashed in Washington state. The US Coast Guard released the names of all the victims on board, including the passengers and the crew.
Among the passengers were Lauren Hilty, her husband Ross Mickel, and their daughter Remy Mickel. A total of ten victims lost their lives in the accident that occurred on Sunday in Puget Sound. Remy was listed as a minor on the passenger list. Out of the ten victims, the body of only one unidentified victim could be recovered and handed over to the local authorities.
The National Transportation Safety Board is leading an investigation into the tragic incident. The Coast Guard suspended the search for the remaining nine passengers, including Megan Hilty’s family. The Mickel and Hilty family released a joint statement expressing their grief and shock due to the tragedy. Per a Los Angeles Times report, the family confirmed that Lauren was also carrying an unborn boy, which they had planned to name Luca.
The doomed floatplane flew from the Friday Harbor in the San Juan Islands for the Renton municipal airport. The owner of the chartered floatplane company Northwest Seaplanes also boarded one of the two planes that left the port on Sunday. The owner informed the authorities that the plane went off course about 30 miles northwest of Seattle, and there could not be any radio connection with it.

Ross Mickel, Megan Hilty’s brother-in-law, is the founder of the Woodinville-based Ross Andrew Winery. The family described the three deceased members as the bright and shining lights of their lives. The floatplane also had aboard social activist Sandy Williams, Patricia Hicks, Joanne Mera, Gabrielle Hanna, and Luke Ludwig.
