Singer Jess Glynne reveals reason for skipping Jay-Z meeting

British Jess Glynne, who has just shifted to Los Angeles, USA, has revealed the real reason she decided to skip an important meeting with Jay-Z. The reason will surely make you laugh, and think that this can happen to anybody.

Jess Glynne has recently signed onto Jay-Z’s management company Roc Nation that handles artists. Even after getting such a big break, the singer said she couldn’t make it to their first meeting.

Well, the reason Jess Glynne could skip such an important work meeting was simply because she was waiting in her apartment to have her television installed!

The 33-year-old singer confessed that she was nervous about the meeting, but that the real reason was the TV fitting. She said, “I was meant to meet him, but I was getting my TV fitted on the day.” The singer was in her brand new apartment in LA, and had “loads of workmen delivering stuff and putting things in”, and so though she was meant to be in the office, she couldn’t. She told Jay-Z, “Ah, yeah, I can’t make it.”

Lucky for her that Jay-Z found it rather funny. Jess said, “He laughed, he respected the fact I had to get my s*** together…”, adding that she was just doing what real people do.

Jess has returned to making music, after being in a “really dark space” when she was with the record label Atlantic Records, and had lost a friend in a tragic manner in 2021.

Jess revealed that it was really a “very nerve-wracking time” of her life. “I was at a point where a lot had happened in my life, and life is short.”

It’s important to put “happiness, mental health and greatness” ahead of you “rather than suppress it”, she said.
