Singer Adele 'regrets' canceling Vegas residency tour: Know why

Oscar winner British singer-songwriter Adele postponed her Las Vegas Residency tour about six months earlier, however, now she regrets the decision and calls it the worst moment of her career.

Regretting in public about career decisions is not rare among stars, and the latest to join the bandwagon is the popular British singer Adele who has bagged multiple accolades like Oscar, Grammy, Brit Awards, Golden Globe Award, and Billboard Music Awards in her career, so far.

The singer postponed the Las Vegas Residency tour dates about six months ago. However, at present, she regrets this postponement. She has also gone so far as to claim that it was the worst moment of her career.

Six months ago, In her social media post, Adele announced that the tour, 'Weekend With Adele', scheduled at Caesar Palace’s Colosseum, would be disrupted. She cited many reasons for the delay, including crew members' testing positive for COVID-19 and delivery delays.


Adele revealed other reasons behind the delay of the residency and also termed it the worst moment of her career to date. She said that the planned shows initially did not align with her vision. She said that they lacked soul. The stage’s set-up was amiss; there was a disconnect and a lack of intimacy. She also admitted that she might have given the tours much thought without considering that they were occurring in a controlled environment.

Adele added that the Colosseum stage was huge, creating various issues. She also stated that she couldn’t connect with the audience, and she didn't want to turn the show into a spectacle.

Adele expressed that after canceling the show, she felt embarrassed.

However, she believed that she did the right thing. She said she felt proud to take a stand for her artistic needs. She also boosted her confidence because she knew that canceling the show was very brave, as most people would not have done that.

Adele’s fourth studio album, called "30," was released soon after the announcement of the residency tour. She faced criticism after she canceled the Las Vegas residence, due to which she went into hiding and stopped promoting her new album actively. She said that she didn’t want anyone to feel that she was trying her best, which she was.

In July 2022, Adele announced her new tour dates that started in November and would run up to March 2023. While the tour includes 24 scheduled shows, eight new events have been added to the calendar.

Adele revealed that the new concerts would be intimate and show her career’s journey.

Even though she is not 60 with 20 albums under her belt, Adele said her music would be appreciated in Vegas.

Adele also talked about the residency and said it had come at the right time in her career and life. She said that this would be the right time to do it.

Adele added that the residency would be an emotional journey for her.
