Silent Hill 2 remake: Release date, new features, trailer and Deluxe Edition details

Konami has announced that the Silent Hill 2 remake will be released late this year. At Sony's State of Play event in May, this information was disclosed. The ghostly town of Silent Hill will appear in the improved graphics version.

However, it’s not yet clear if there will be any new features in the Silent Hill 2 game, but the camera will now be in the third person, unlike the fixed camera angles in the original game.

Silent Hill 2: Release Date

The Silent Hill 2 remake will be released on October 8, 2024, Tuesday, Konami disclosed during Sony's State of Play event on May 30, Thursday. Konami revealed a new gameplay video showcasing James and Mary/Maria's fresh appearances in the next game along with the release date, as mentioned in the report by Coming Soon.

The trailer presents multiple accurate recreations of game scenes, such as James' mirror sequence, without uttering any single word. The trailer introduces viewers to important characters like Laura (Evie Templeton) and Maria (Hannah Emily Anderson).

The terrifying occupants of Silent Hill are also shown in the trailer, with masses of Nurses coming toward James and a massive Pyramid Head towering above him.

Silent Hill 2 remake: All we know

Similar to the first Silent Hill game, you take on the role of James Sunderland, who has ended up in Silent Hill while trying to find his wife. James believed that his wife had died before the game began, but then he received a letter supposedly from her urging him to locate her in Silent Hill.

Digital items and in-game extras are included in the Deluxe Edition.
Konami also said that preorders for the game were now available in addition to the game's release date. As per the Coming Soon report, the game's Deluxe Edition was also revealed, and it comes with a wide range of in-game and downloadable goodies, such as:

In addition to the game's Standard Edition, preorders for this version will also get Robbie the Rabbit and Mira the Dog masks. Silent Hill 2 is available in both Standard and Deluxe Editions, with the former costing $79.99.
