Production for Shrinking Season 3 will begin next week in Pasadena and Altadena. The show has always filmed in these locations. Actress and music supervisor Christa Miller announced this update on Instagram. She said the production team wanted to continue working in the area after the recent Eaton wildfire in Altadena.

Miller stated that after the fires, it was important to support affected communities. She highlighted how Shrinking has deep ties to these locations. She also mentioned that Pasadena and Altadena are significant to the show’s cast and crew.

The Eaton fire in Altadena and the Palisades fire near Malibu caused severe damage. Both fires burned for nearly a month. Authorities confirmed on Saturday that they were fully contained. Many homes and structures were destroyed during the fires.

Miller said that Los Angeles remains the center of storytelling and creativity. She emphasized the city’s resilience. She expressed excitement about sharing the new season with fans.

Season 3

Season 2 of Shrinking ended on Christmas Eve. The final episode took place during Thanksgiving. Co-creator Bill Lawrence told Deadline, Season 3 will explore the theme of "moving forward." Season 1 focused on grief, while Season 2 was about forgiveness.

Season 2 introduced a new character played by Brett Goldstein. He portrayed Louis, a drunk driver responsible for the crash that killed Jimmy’s wife and daughter Alice’s mother. Goldstein is also a co-creator of the series.
