The Chief of Garrison Communication of Fort Stewart, Kevin Larson, issued a statement that multiple emergency service agencies were at the location of the building in The Second Armored Brigade Combat Team complex. The incident was reported as a shooting. He added that a suspect had been apprehended and was in custody with law enforcement.
