The shooting took place around 7:45 p.m. at the fair's renowned food court, also referred to as the Tower Building, distinguished for its striking Art Deco architecture.
A shooting incident during the bustling Saturday night at the State Fair of Texas in Dallas resulted in three individuals sustaining non-life-threatening injuries, as confirmed by Dallas Police Department Sr. Cpl. Melinda Gutierrez. The suspect, who fled the scene, was later apprehended by law enforcement officials and was found in possession of a firearm that is believed to have been used in the attack.

The specific conditions of the injured parties remain undisclosed at this time. In response to the incident, authorities swiftly initiated an evacuation of Dallas' Fair Park, located southeast of downtown, an area known for attracting over 100,000 fairgoers on busy weekend nights.

Cpl. Gutierrez stated in a press briefing that the shooting was a result of one individual firing at another, leading to the injury of three people. The circumstances surrounding the injury of the two additional individuals remain under investigation.

Adam Bazaldua, a City Council member, took to X, the platform previously known as Twitter, to suggest that the attack originated from a conflict between two individuals who were acquainted with each other.

While authorities swiftly responded to the incident, fair organizers urged individuals outside the fairgrounds to avoid the vicinity. Notably, the State Fair of Texas attracted a record-setting crowd last year, with over 2.5 million attendees throughout the duration of the event. According to state fair data, weekend attendance often surpassed the 100,000 mark, particularly on Saturdays and Sundays.

Despite the unsettling occurrence, the fair was scheduled to continue as planned, running through the upcoming weekend as previously scheduled.
