Shohei Ohtani continued his torrid pace at the plate, launching his National League-leading 30th home run of the season as the Los Angeles Dodgers defeated the Chicago White Sox 6-1 in Tuesday night's game.

The Dodgers' victory extended their successful run to 13 wins in 16 matches, establishing their largest NL West lead of the season at eight games.

Ohtani has now homered at least 30 times in five consecutive seasons, underscoring his remarkable consistency at the plate. It’s also the third time in his Major League career that he has reached the 30-homer mark before the All-Star break, having previously done so in 2021 and 2023.

With this latest milestone, Ohtani becomes just the 12th active MLB player to record five or more 30-homer seasons, further cementing his place among the game’s elite sluggers.

Ohtani accidentally struck plate umpire Alan Porter's right knee with a foul ball during the fourth inning. After ensuring Porter could stand independently, Ohtani proceeded to hit a substantial 408-foot centre-field home run, ending his previous 0-for-6 streak and increasing the Dodgers' advantage to 6-1.

During the seventh-inning interval, Ohtani demonstrated continued concern by checking on Porter's condition before his next at-bat.

Yoshinobu Yamamoto (8-6) received unprecedented run support this season, with the Dodgers establishing a 4-0 advantage in the opening inning.

Yamamoto delivered a strong performance, allowing just one run and three hits across seven innings, while recording eight strikeouts and one walk.

The White Sox's Shane Smith (3-6) secured two quick outs in the first inning before issuing consecutive walks to Will Smith and Max Muncy.

Subsequently, Teoscar Hernández delivered an RBI single, Andy Pages contributed a run-scoring double, and Michael Conforto added a two-run single.
