‘Shiny Happy People: Duggar Family Secrets’ is streaming now on Amazon Prime and levels a range of allegations against the family.

Shiny Happy People: Duggar Family Secrets’ is a four-part docu series streaming on Amazon Prime Video. It features the accusations against the reality TV parents who are known to have raised 19 children with conservative values.
It is to mention that controversies have surrounded the Duggar family especially due to the child sex abuse scandal that led to the imprisonment of their eldest son Josh Duggar for over 12 years. Josh Duggar was found guilty of downloading and possessing child pornography.
Following the premiere of ‘Shiny Happy People’ on Streaming platform, Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar said that like other families, theirs too has experiences of “joys and heartbreaks of life, just in a very public format”.
“This ‘documentary’ paints so much and so many in a derogatory and sensationalized way because sadly that’s the direction of entertainment these days”. In the documentary, it is shown that Josh Duggar’s abuse was not an isolated event as the docuseries details how the children were raised in a cult led by accused sexual abuser who taught women and children to be obedient and submissive.
‘Shiny Happy People’ also features interviews with fourth Duggar child, Jill Duggar Dillard who alleged that her family did not pay her for featuring on ‘19 Kids and Counting’, the spinoff series and pressured her to appear on Fox News to downplay abuse from brother Josh Duggar.
