Shifty Shellshock death: What is the reason behind 'Crazy Town' lead singer's demise?

Rap-rock band "Crazy Town" lead singer Shifty Shellshock has passed away at the age of 49. Los Angeles Medical Examiner records showed that Shellshock died at his residence on Monday, June 24, in Los Angeles. He is survived by three children.

While, the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner confirmed his death, the cause of which was still being investigated. However, Shellshock, whose real name was Seth Binzer, suffered from addiction, as per a report on New York Post.

Shellshock had spent a significant amount of time on "Celebrity Rehab". The singer was arrested in 2012 for allegedly possessing cocaine. He also slipped into coma that year but managed to recuperate, Variety reported.

According to TMZ, the rapper was found driving under the influence (DUI) twice in 2022 and 2023. Shellshock got arrested due to the 2022 incident which took place in Los Angeles.

Shellshock and rapper Bret 'Epic' Mazur formed "Crazy Town" in 1995. Shellshock's band members were Mark White, DJ Rick One, Adam Bravin, Charles Lopez.

Their first album "Butterfly" was released in 2020 and it was big hit. However, the band's second album flopped and it was disintegrated in 2003. However, members once again assembled in 2007 and released third album "The Brimstone Sluggers" in 2015. In 2017, Shellshock's band was renamed "Crazy Town X by Shellshock", New York Post reported.
