“Shifting Gears.” is all set to renew for the second season as ABC has decided to revive the hit sitcom, bringing back the father-daughter duo of Matt and Riley played by Tim Allen and Kat Dennings, respectively. The show, created by Mike Scully and Julie Thacker Scully, follows Matt, a widowed classic car shop owner. His estranged daughter and her kids move in, leading to comical family scenes and a sense of personal restoration.

The Season 2 has a lot more twists and turns in store with Jenna Elfman who plays Eve Drake expected to bring unanticipated love to Allen’s widower, according to The Wrap. The new season will also showcase how the relationship of the father-daughter duo is rekindled after she moves back in with her young son

The second season will also feature several more guest stars, including “Last Man Standing’s” Nancy Travis and “Shark Tank’s” Lori Greiner. The main cast includes Tim Allen, Kat Dennings, Maxwell Simkins, and Barrett Margolis. Simkins and Margolis play the grandchildren of Allen's character, Matt. The series is set to return in October, 2025
