Shark attack kills teenage girl in Perth's Swan River in Australia

A teenager was mauled to death by a shark in Australia's Perth. The incident took place on Saturday when the 16-year-old girl swam near the Fremantle Traffic Bridge over the Swan River. This was the deadly shark attack in more than a century, according to a report.

The girl had suffered fatal injuries from the bull shark. According to authorities, the girl and her friends were on jet skis. The girl likely to jump in the water to get close to a pod of dolphins, as per a Mirror report.

Police authorities for the Fremantle district said the girl was pulled out of the water. However, she was pronounced dead, as per the Mirror report.



Police side that shark usually does not come that far down the river. A shark warning alert has been issued to caution people.
