Shania Twain shares her worst experience by stepfather. Here's what she said
Shania Twain, the country singer, informed the audience and the world in general, after so many years of silence, that she had an abusive and sexually predatory stepfather.

Shania said that in her family, no one would want to be a girl out there. Her father would accost her at odd hours in lonely times. Earlier she had often said that though she had a stepfather, she would never dare to say he was 'step' as it was like a slap across his face. Her family would never tolerate the behaviour of that kind. This time she did not mince any words but informed quite straightforwardly that the man had abused her. She used to deliberately hide as the man would be equally physically assaulting her as well. She was afraid that her stepfather would attempt to kill her mother or her, which made her very strong to fight back. She had once flung a chair at her stepfather. It was more anger than courage, and she had a tough time restraining herself from taking a go at him. The singer warned that she shouldn't be the person bad people attempted to attack in the streets. She would undoubtedly rip that head off if anyone dared.
She wore dual bras smaller than her required size to conceal her breasts and look all-male. She was afraid of being a girl, but not anymore now. She started building on that confidence as she went to the world stage as a performer. As a young girl, she hated being among drunks but would like to go to the bar and delve into her music. A child grows in confidence as she is flung into various situations that make her stronger. Her stepfather and mother died in a car accident, and Shania started feeling safer.
