The race featured three yellow flags, with only one occurring in the first two stages for debris. Van Gisbergen crossed the finish line 11.116 seconds ahead of Christopher Bell. Chris Buescher finished third, followed by William Byron and Chase Briscoe.
With five victories in 38 career NASCAR Cup Series starts, van Gisbergen trails only Elliott (seven) and Kyle Larson (six) among active drivers in wins on street or road courses. The result came one week after Trackhouse Racing announced a multiyear contract extension with the Auckland, New Zealand, native.
Stage 1 was won by Buescher, while Blaney took Stage 2. Late in Stage 2, John Hunter Nemechek made contact with Legacy Motor Club teammate Erik Jones, sending Jones off track. On the stage’s final lap, Nemechek was turned in the right rear by Ty Gibbs.
The NASCAR Cup Series continues with the August 16 race at Richmond Raceway, scheduled for 7:30 p.m. ET on USA Network.
