Shadow and Bone season 3 happening? Everything we know so far

Shadow and Bone season 2 was released on Netflix in March this year. With the release of the second season, the question arises will there be a renewal of the Shadow and Bone for the third season.

Netflix’s big-budget fantasy show "Shadow and Bone" is based on the Grishaverse books by Leigh Bardugo. "Shadow and Bone" is helmed by Eric Heisserer and features Archie Renaux, Jessie Mei Li, Freddy Carter, and Ben Barnes.

"Shadow and Bone" season 1 was released on Netflix in April, 2021. The second season was premiered in March, 2023.


Netflix is yet to make any official comment on the renewal of "Shadow and Bone" for the third season. Netflix has strict metrics which shows of the streaming giant need to match for renewal.

Netflix casting director Sophie Holland told Deadline in May this year that he was hoping that there will be a third season of "Shadow and Bone".

Meanwhile, Netflix last week outlined how it intends to crack down on the rampant sharing of account passwords in the US, its latest bid to reel in more subscribers to its video streaming service as its growth slows. To combat password sharing, Netflix said it will limit US viewership of its programming to people living in the same household. Those who subscribe to Netflix's standard or premium plans - which cost USD 15.50 to USD 20 per month - will be able to allow another person living outside their household to use their password for an additional USD 8 per month, a USD 2 discount from the company's basic plan.

The long-anticipated move, telegraphed by Netflix a year ago, seeks to end a practice that the company allowed to go unchecked for years while its streaming service was attracting subscribers in droves. At that time, management had little incentive to risk riling customers by reining in password sharing.
