‘Shadow and Bone’ season 2 will premiere in March. Check date

Fans of Leigh Bardugo's Grishaverse books flocked to the series that attempted to blend her Grisha trilogy and Six of Crows duology into one when Season 1 of Shadow and Bone initially debuted on Netflix. After Season 1 debuted in April 2021, fans have been impatiently awaiting Season 2, which promises the return of beloved characters and a host of fresh new faces.

The show centres on Alina Starkov (Jessie Mei Li), a young woman who can call sunshine who lives in a magical world with princes, assassins, thieves, and one particularly seductive but perilous dark lord.

The eight-episode second season of Shadow and Bone will formally debut on March 16, 2023. Eric Heisserer, who oversaw the show in Season 1, is joined by Bitten actor Daegan Fryklind as a new co-showrunner, executive producer, and writer for the project. There are around eight episodes of one hour; Jessie Mei Li will reprise her role as Alina Starkov, the part as The Darkling/General Kirigan played by Ben Barnes is being repeated, Archie Renaux will reprise his role as Mal Oretsev, Freddy Carter will reprise his role as Kaz Brekker, Amita Suman will reprise her role as Inej Ghafa, Kit Young will reprise his role as Jesper Fahey, Danielle Galligan will reprise her role as Nina Zenik. Long-awaited characters, including Jack Wolfe's Wylan Hendriks, Patrick Gibson's Nikolai Lantsov, Lewis Tan's Tolya Yul-Bataar, and Anna Leong Brophy's Tamar Kir-Bataar will also be introduced in the series.
