SEVENTEEN's Vernon will release his solo mixtape this month

Vernon, a member of the South Korean boy band SEVENTEEN, has announced that he would begin his solo career with the release of his first mixtape, "Black Eye." While informing about the mixtape through a teaser, Pledis Entertainment stated "Black Eye" will be rolled out on December 23. The news has left SEVENTEEN's fans, popularly called CARATs, going crazy as they will be able to hear yet another solo work from the boy band.

Although Vernon has already participated as a solo artist in singles and features, he has never released an entire lineup of songs. Interestingly, Vernon has surprised his fans in previous instances also. On November 23, 2021, the singer dropped out his first-ever solo song, "Bands Boy." After "Bands Boy," Vernon was featured in Charli XCX's "Beg For You" on February 25, 2022. Notably, before "Bands Boy" and "Beg For You," Vernon had participated in "Sickness" (2016) alongside PLEDIS GIRLZ and "Lotto" (2015) alongside Don Mills.




Before the announcement of the release of Vernon's Mixtape, two members of SEVENTEEN - JUN and WOOZI - had already released their solo single this year. JUN released "LIMBO" in September, while WOOZI debuted with Ruby in January. "Black Eye" will be the third release in The Thirteen Tapes by SEVENTEEN. Notably, all thirteen members of the group are likely to release their solo works under The Thirteen Tapes.

Recently, SEVENTEEN released "Dream," a Japanese EP, which was accompanied by Japanese versions of the group's previous songs, such as "All My Love" and "Rock."
