Senator Leahy of Vermont advised hip surgery

Senator Leahy has just had a massive fall and doctors recommend hip surgery at the earliest.

Having been born blind in one eye, Senator Healy of Vermont as a depth perception problem. That means he is unable to gauge the depth of a place like say, while coming down a staircase, and that causes him to slip and fall. Recently the senator faced the impact of a massive hit which caused his hip to bear the brunt and break in the bargain. Apparently doctors on checking him decided on surgery at the earliest possible time. Leahy's office was quick to update the media on this and informed that he couldn't dodge this one though he came out tops in past falls. The incident happened in Virginia on Wednesday night in a place called McLean.

Senator Leahy a Democrat, happens to be the oldest serving senator in the United States today at the age of 82. He has been in the senate for the past 48 years. Senator Leahy rode into power early in 1974 and is part of the team of Democrat Senators who were elected post the Watergate scandal. President Nixon decided to resign instead of facing impeachment and that helped Patrick Leahy get elected as Senator. His term finishes in January 2023 and he doesn't have plans to get re-elected.

Senator Patrick Leahy was also presiding the team that conducted President Donald Trump's second impeachment. During the impeachment he had to be hospitalised as he was feeling unwell. He was checked and sent home.


Senator Leahy is expected to start therapy after his surgery and his voters hope he would get back to work for them soon.
