'Same Old Love' singer Selena Gomez hit back at comments about her weight following her appearance at the 2023 Golden Globes. "I’m a little bit bigger right now because I enjoyed myself during the holidays, right?" she said to her half-sister Gracie Elliot Teefey during a live stream.

She wore a black Valentino gown featuring purple puffy sleeves for the award show. Gomez is no stranger to body-shaming trolls, as she has faced such comments throughout her career.

Gomez, 30, reveals in an episode of the "Giving Back Generation" podcast that she first experienced negative comments about her body weight after being diagnosed with Lupus. She said that after being diagnosed with lupus, kidney issues, and high blood pressure, she dealt with a lot of health issues, including fluctuating body weight.



Gomez further stated in a post shared to TikTok that she ate four tacos, three egg rolls, onion rings, and a spicy chicken sandwich. She added that she does not care about her body weight anymore.

Responding to the comments, she said, 'I am perfect the way I am.'

During an interview on Good Morning America, Gomez revealed that she had cut back her time on social media and that it had changed her life completely. She said she is happier, more present, and more connected with people now, which makes her feel normal."
