Scottsdale crash: One plane belonged to Motley Crue's Vince Neil: All you need to know

Motley Crue frontman Vince Neil's representatives confirmed on social media that he was not abroad the flight after it emerged that the Learjet involved in the collision belonged to him.

A collision between two planes at Arizona’s Scottsdale Airport left one person dead and two others critically injured. The incident occurred on February 10, when a Bombardier Learjet 35A veered off the runway after landing. It then crashed into a Gulfstream 200 business jet parked on private property.

According to reports, the frontman for rock band Motley Crue, Vince Neil, owned the Learjet whose landing gear did not deploy on time.

Vince Neil’s statement

The rock singer’s representatives confirmed on social media that he was not present on the flight. It revealed that two pilots and two passengers were aboard at the time of the collision. The statement added that more specific details regarding the crash were unavailable due to the rapidly evolving nature of the situation. The post ended with the musician sending out his "thoughts and prayers" thanking all first responders for their aid.


Details of casualties

Authorities have not been able to identify the person who was killed in the collision. As per Forbes, the fire department was still working to recover the body. It is believed that the individual was on the Learjet since Jet Pros, LLC, which operated the Gulfstream, stated that no passengers were aboard on the parked jet at the time of the crash.

According to authorities, four people were injured, with two of them in critical condition. One person was sent to a local hospital. The fourth individual refused treatment.

Investigation underway

Scottsdale airport was closed for a couple of hours. It later reopened. The National Transportation Safety Board will lead the investigation into the collision.

Deadly spate of planes crashes in US

The collision at Scottsdale follows a number of plane crashes over the past few weeks. Earlier this month, over a dozen people were injured in Philadelphia after a plane crash. The cause has not been identified.

Last month, a commercial plane descending into Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport crashed into a military helicopter. The crash killed 67 people. The matter is still under investigation. Black boxes have been recovered from both aircraft.
