Netflix is most likely to sign a deal with Greg Berlanti to make a live-action TV series based on the beloved Hanna-Barbera animated cartoon 'Scooby-Doo'. According to 'Deadline', the streamer will take up a script-to-series commitment deal, first, it will prepare a script and if the script is well-received, Netflix will make the live-action update of the classic cartoon.

Josh Appelbaum and Scott Rosenberg will write the script. They have earlier adapted 'Cowboy Bebop' for Netflix and 'High Fidelity' for Hulu. The plot details are still not known, what is known is that it will be based on the Hanna-Barbera cartoon.

Executive Producers

Josh Appelbaum and Scott Rosenberg will also executive produce the cartoon via their Midnight Radio banner Andre Nemec and Jeff Pinkner. Others to join as executive producers include Greg Berlanti, Sarah Schechter and Leigh London Redman for Berlanti Productions.


Producers

Warner Bros. Television will produce the animated cartoon 'Scooby-Doo'. They have recently launched 'Dead Boys Detectives' series on Netflix.

Scooby-Doo! franchise

Joe Ruby and Ken Spears created and Hanna-Barbera launched the Scooby-Doo! franchise in 1969 with the first animated series 'Scooby-Doo, Where Are You!'. It was originally aired on CBS from 1969-76. It introduced supernatural mysteries-solving teens Fred Jones, Daphne Blake, Velma Dinkley and Shaggy Rogers and their talking Great Dane Scooby-Doo. The animated cartoon was moved to ABC and many versions of the show were aired until 1986.

'Scooby-Doo': Spinoff

Its spinoff 'A Pup Named Scooby-Doo!' was shown from 1988-91. 'Two Scooby-Doo!' reboots premiered as part of Kids’ WB on The WB and its successor The CW from 2002-08.
