What did the officials and ministers of Chile say about the discovery?

Flavio Salazar, the Minister of Science and Technology of Chile, admitted to reporters that discovering new species is an infrequent and challenging task.

He added that the new world is keener to observe birds, their habitat and food habits, and in general, the beauty of birds alone; therefore, it means that the discovery sites for new birds have also become unique. In the case of Subantarctic rayadito, it is the Subantarctic region, as the bird’s name already makes clear.
