Philadelphia Eagles running back Saquon Barkley has turned the tables in just a year as he has been voted the No. 1 player on the NFL Top 100 Players of 2025 list, the league announced on Monday night. Barkley, ranked 86th in 2024, jumped 85 places to claim the top spot ahead of Ravens QB Lamar Jackson at No. 2, Bills QB Josh Allen at No. 3, Bengals WR Ja’Marr Chase at No. 4, with Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes rounding out the top five. It's also a great honor for the Eagles as it marked the first time that any Philadelphia player has claimed the pole position in the prestigious rankings.

The top 100 players list is voted on annually by players across the NFL. Barkley, who is one of nine Eagles to make this year’s top 100, joins quarterback Jalen Hurts (No. 19), offensive tackle Lane Johnson (No. 23), linebacker Zack Baun (No. 26), wide receiver AJ Brown (No. 29), defensive tackle Jalen Carter (No. 43), cornerback Quinyon Mitchell (No. 49), defensive back Cooper DeJean (No. 60) and offensive tackle Jordan Mailata (No. 69).

Former Penn State star Barkley had a great campaign in 2025 after joining Philadelphia as a free agent from the New York Giants. Barkley, who was named NFL’s Offensive Player of the Year, became the ninth running back in NFL history to rush for 2,000-plus yards. He also rushed for 499 yards and five touchdowns in the postseason, leading the Eagles to Super Bowl LIX victory after wins over the Packers, Rams, Commanders and Chiefs.

The Eagles will kick off their Super Bowl title defense on Thursday night, hosting the Dallas Cowboys at Lincoln Financial Field.
