On the afternoon of Black Friday, November 28, 2025, a shooting occurred at the Westfield Valley Fair Mall in West San Jose. The San Jose Police Department (SJPD) confirmed the discovery of two victims with gunshot wounds, both of whom were transported to a local hospital. The victims' conditions have not been publicly disclosed.

Police units responded promptly to the incident, advising the public to avoid the area while officers conducted investigations and worked to ensure safety.

Despite early witness reports suggesting an active shooter situation, SJPD clarified that this appears to be an isolated incident without an ongoing threat. However, as a precaution, officers evacuated and cleared the mall to verify that no additional threats existed inside.

“Please avoid the area while officers investigate and work to ensure everyone’s safety,” is urging the SJPD.

At this time, no information has been released regarding any suspects or motives, and the investigation remains active.
