San Diego Comic-Con 2023: What were the highlights, new trailers, announcements?

At the San Diego Comic-Con (SDCC) 2023 edition, several exciting announcements were made, trailers revealed and panel discussions held. Here are some of the highlights from the 2023 Comic-Con International: San Diego, being held from Thursday, July 20 to Sunday, July 23.

Project K teaser and name reveal

Deepika Padukone and Prabhas starrer Project K became the first Indian film to be showcased at a Comic-Con in the US. It was also revealed that Project K’s official name is Kalki 2898 AD.


Apart from Prabhas and Deepika Padukone, the mytho-sci-fi fantasy film stars India’s renowned veterans Amitabh Bachchan and Kamal Haasan, as well as young star Disha Patani. Kalki 2898 AD is directed by Nag Ashwin.

Invincible: Season 2 exclusive poster revealed

The exclusive poster of Amazon Prime Video's adult animated series, Invincible: Season 2 was released at SDCC 2023. Series creator Robert Kirkman also participated in a panel.

The Walking Dead: Betrayal new videogame

Skybound Games announced the new cooperation and deception game, The Walking Dead: Betrayal, which is a multiplayer game set in The Walking Dead universe. Players will have access to the closed beta test on August 10, 2023, exclusively on PC via Steam, before the official release.

Justice League vs. Godzilla vs. Kong new crossover comic series

DC and Legendary Entertainment announced a crossover comic series, which will bring together the iconic characters from Justice League, Godzilla, and Kong! The seven-issue series will release in October 2023.

The Boys’ spinoff Gen V premiere date

Amazon Studios announced the premiere of The Boys’ spin-off teen series Gen V, happening on September 29, 2023. The Gen V Season 1 Finale will be on November 3, 2023.

Diablo IV updates

Blizzard Entertainment announced interesting updates for Diablo IV. Joe Piepiora, associate game director, also addressed issues over the updates.

Borderlands movie release date

Lionsgate Films said at SDCC that the Borderlands’ live-action adaptation film will release in theaters on August 9, 2024.

Cartoon Network’s Adventure Time spin-off

Cartoon Network's popular animated series, Adventure Time, will soon have a spin-off. Titled Adventure Time: Fionna and Cake, it will premiere on August 31, 2023.

Marvel's Secret Invasion on Hulu

Disney announced the release of Secret Invasion on Hulu for a limited time from July 21 to August 17, 2023. The first three episodes will be released.
