Renowned Russian financier Vyacheslav Taran died in a mysterious helicopter crash in France. The Russian embassy in Paris said that the founder of Forex Club and Libertex died in Villefranche-sur-Me. However, Ukrainian authorities claimed that Vyacheslav’s helicopter crash was linked to Kremlin’s foreign intelligence.

Vyacheslav was one of Russia’s crypto billionaires and was based in Monaco. The 53-year-old was flying from Lausanne, Switzerland, in a Monacair H130 helicopter. The Mirror reported that an experienced pilot in his 30s was flying the helicopter, and he also died in the crash.

Russian media reported that an unidentified VIP was also expected to join Vyacheslav, who pulled out at the last minute. The Russian billionaire belonged to Vladivostok, and his wife, Olga, was the founder of Hello Monaco, a media outlet in the scenic European country. Vyacheslav and Olga had three children. Vyacheslav was a renowned figure in the financial circles in Monaco and Cyprus. He was also a philanthropist and co-founded the Change One Life initiative that helps orphanages and child-care institutions.

While Monaco authorities saw his operations as respectable, Kyiv claimed that Vyacheslav was linked to the Russian Foreign Intelligence Service and was allegedly responsible for laundering cash from Russia via crypto operations. However, the UNIAN news agency failed to cite any proof. On the other hand, the pro-war Telegram channel Marat Bashirov claimed that Vyacheslav’s death was a clean-up operation.

The Libertex Group released an official statement on the death of its co-founder and chairman. The statement confirmed that the accident took place on Friday, November 25. The company and other members of the society in Monaco extended their condolences to Vyacheslav’s wife and children. French authorities have initiated a formal investigation into the accident, though the cause of the accident hasn’t been determined yet.
