After over twenty years in operation, Rooster Teeth is facing closure. Parent company Warner Bros. Discovery has made the decision to shut down the unprofitable division, which encompasses fandom, gaming, and comedy entertainment. Despite efforts to sell Rooster Teeth, no successful deals were made, leading to this decision, as per a report in Variety.

During an all-hands meeting on Wednesday, RT general manager Jordan Levin delivered the news of Rooster Teeth's closure to its Austin-based staff. Additionally, a memo was distributed to employees to inform them of the decision.

With the shutdown of Rooster Teeth, around 150 full-time employees are expected to be laid off, impacting numerous contractors and content creators associated with the company, Variety reported.


At present, Warner Bros. Discovery is engaged in negotiations to offload the rights to specific Rooster Teeth catalog content and intellectual property, including the well-received anime-style series "RWBY."
