Rondale Moore, 25, an NFL wide receiver, passed away on Saturday authorities in Indiana stated.

Todd Bailey, police chief of Moore’s hometown of New Albany, told local media that the player was discovered dead in a garage, with chances pointing to a suspected self-inflicted gunshot wound, according to an AFP report. Who was Rondale Moore

Rondale Moore grew up in New Albany, Indiana, born on June 9, 2000. Even before making an entry into the NFL, Moore was widely popular for his speed and agility on the field. He attended Trinity High School in Kentucky, earned four-star recruit status, and chose Purdue University for his collegiate career. Moore exploded onto the college scenario with one of the best freshman seasons in college football history.

Although only 5’7″, Moore made up for his height with a 42.5-inch vertical leap and a 4.32-second 40-yard dash. Coaches, teammates, and fans often admired his energy, work ethic, and commitment. Following a striking career at Purdue, Moore was chosen for the second round of the 2021 NFL Draft by the Arizona Cardinals. He was then traded to the Atlanta Falcons in March 2024 but sustained a knee injury that ruled him out for the complete season. In March 2025, Moore signed a one-year contract with the Minnesota Vikings but endured another season-ending knee injury in the preseason.

Minnesota Vikings and NFL Reactions

The Minnesota Vikings mentioned in a statement that the team was “deeply saddened by the passing of Rondale Moore,” the report cited. The club further said, “While we are working to understand the facts, we have spoken with Rondale's family to offer our condolences and the full support of the Minnesota Vikings.”
