The storyline follows Alex disguising himself as a gym teacher to enable Bibi to continue playing soccer. The film, recognized for its commercial appeal, entertainment value, and family-friendly content, is set for completion by mid-2024.
Filmax's head of international, Ivan Diaz, expressed excitement about the project, citing the success of their previous animated film, "Elcano & Magellan: The First Voyage Around the World." Diaz praised the collaboration with Dibulitoon Studio and Malabar Producciones.
"Robotia" received support from various entities, including the Argentine film institute INCAA, Ibermedia, Mecenazgo, Animar, and the Basque Government. It gained recognition at the Quirino Awards’ Coproduction Forum and secured the Best Project in Development award from Ibermedia.
Filmax, celebrating its 70th anniversary, recently joined "The Monster of Many Noses," the feature debut of director Abigail Schaaff. The fantasy film, blending local mythology, is penned by Eric Moral and producer Nuria Velasco, known for the TV3 series "Buga Buga."
