Robert Clary, Hogan's Heroes star, dies at age of 96
Robert Clary was the last surviving member of the main cast of the TV series named Hogan's Heroes, which ran between 1965 and 1971.

Actor Robert Clary, best known for his role in Hogan’s Heroes, died at 96 at his home in Los Angeles. The granddaughter of the actor confirmed the death to THR on Wednesday.
The TV series in which he played the character of Corporal Louis LeBeau was about an American who was on a mission to beat the Nazis in the camp of Luft Satalag by leading a group of Allied prisoners of war. The series ran between the years 1965 and 1971 for six seasons. Among the show’s principal cast, Robert was the last surviving member.
Before coming into acting, Robert was the youngest member of a strict Orthodox Jewish family. He was the youngest of 14 children, and his whole family was sent to Auschwitz concentration camp.
In 2015, he revealed to THR what his mum told him to do what they wanted him to do and to 'behave'.

Later, Robert admitted that his performing ability played a crucial part in his survival as he performed in front of SS soldiers every other week. He was relocated to France following his liberation, and later 1949 moved to Los Angeles.
While speaking in a 2015 interview about the horrid events, he said that playing a part in Hogan’s Heroes TV series is entirely different from what he faced.
