‘Ripley’ to get showcased on Netflix instead of Showtime, says report
The eight-episode limited series, Ripley, is an adaptation of Patricia Highsmith's popular novels, "The Talented Mr. Ripley."

As per the report, the shift of Ripley from Showtime to Netflix occurred after the former's parent company decided not to continue with the project. This comes as Showtime is merging into Paramount+. This move follows the discontinuation of several other projects, including Three Women and American Gigolo, at the cable network.
The limited series is reportedly designed with the potential for further installments in case of success, as stated in the report.
The development of the Ripley project has been a long-standing affair, first announced back in September 2019. Due to several delays, including those caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, filming finally commenced in July 2021 and was completed early in 2022. The project was filmed across two locations, in Italy and New York.
