According to local reports, a Warwick SWAT Team is currently conducting a clearance operation in the parking garage of Rhode Island's TF Green Airport, while state police have established a perimeter around the area.

T.F. Green Airport is currently on lockdown as state and local police investigate a "possible threat” due to an active shooter. Multiple agencies are involved in the ongoing investigation.

Warwick Police Chief Bradford Connor stated that they received a call regarding a "possible threat" at the airport. Law enforcement agencies are actively investigating the situation and conducting searches in the airport's parking lots.




Rhode Island State Police Col. Darnell Weaver provided an update, mentioning that the threat "appears to be unfounded at this time." Despite this, authorities are taking the matter seriously. Troopers have established a perimeter around the parking garage, and a Warwick SWAT team is currently clearing the garage of any potential threats.

Preliminary information suggests that the threat was reported as a potential suspect with a rifle. Warwick police responded to the call, and it was determined that the threat was isolated to the parking garage and did not extend to the actual terminal building.

Entrances to the airport have been blocked, and the airport is closed to the public during the ongoing investigation. The Rhode Island Department of Transportation (RIDOT) reported that all travel lanes leading to T.F. Green on the airport connector are currently blocked off.
