Three-term congresswoman Liz Cheney has lost the Wyoming Republican party race. With this, she loses her seat in the US House of Representatives to challenger Harriet Hageman who was supported by former US President Donald Trump.

Cheney's resounding primary defeat marks the end of an era for her own family legacy. However, she seems to be stronger than before. Cheney, a well known Trump's fiercest critic, had already expected the defeat. She was already well-prepared for her next political mission.

Cheney is ready with her new plan titled, 'The Great Task,' a political movement whose primary aim will be to prevent former president Donald Trump from reclaiming the White House in 2024.

While most of the lawmakers within the party extend unswerving support to Trump or abstain from criticizing him, Cheney seems to be fighting a lonely battle to achieve her goal.'

Earlier, Cheney had declared that she would ensure Trump never returns to the Oval Office.

It is also not clear whether traditional Republicanism has enough to convince conservative voters against Trump or provide support to Cheney's rival 2024 presidential run.

Liz Cheney, daughter of former vice-president Dick Cheney, has got herself as Trump's most prominent critic after standing against Trump over the January 6, 2021 attack. She has successfully acquired a position in politics that is difficult to ignore.

To restore the institutional roots of the party, several donors in finance and business are willing to support Cheney.

Peter Kellner, founder and managing partner at Richmond Global who also donated to Cheney, said they are an angry yet prideful patriotic group and will continue with the battle. He added that Cheney is one of the most important Americans of the generation.
