Republican lawmakers warn Apple, say don't buy memory chips from YMTC for iPhone. This is what happened
Apple has been warned by Republican legislators that it will face a big congressional investigation if it purchases memory chips from Yangtze Memory Technologies Corp (YMTC).

According to Rubio, Apple was playing with fire since they were previously aware of the security threats posed by YMTC. If it goes through, it will face unprecedented scrutiny from the federal government. We cannot let Chinese corporations with Communist Party ties into our telecommunications networks or the iPhones of millions of Americans.
When asked about the congressional concerns, Apple stated that it did not utilize YMTC chips in any of its products but that it was "considering sourcing from YMTC for NAND chips to be used in some iPhones sold in China."
Apple stated that it was not considering adopting YMTC processors in phones sold outside China. It further said that all customer data saved on the company's NAND chips was "completely secured."
In April, it was reported that the White House and Commerce Department were investigating charges that YMTC was breaking US export control regulations by delivering semiconductors to Huawei, the Chinese telecoms equipment business.
According to a person familiar with the matter, Democratic Senate majority leader Chuck Schumer has privately expressed concerns about YMTC to Commerce Secretary Gina Raimondo.
What is YMTC?
