Herschel Walker has denied the claims that he paid for a woman's abortion in 2009 and promised to sue the news outlet. The former pro and college football star called the allegations "gutter politics and disgusting." Republicans hope Walker's race would contribute to regaining the Senate's majority. However, Herschel Walker's eldest son had some negative things to say about his father on Twitter after the news was published. Walker's son accused him of hypocrisy and violence in a series of tweets.

Herschel Walker's son, Christian Walker, tweeted that he knows his mom and would appreciate it if Herschel Walker stopped lying and embarrassing them. He added that Herschel was not a "family man" and left his family, threatened to kill them, and forced them to move more than six times in just six months because they had to run from his violence. Christian tweeted again on Monday and said everyone in the family asked Herschel Walker not to run for office because they all knew about his past. He added that Herschel decided not to listen and instead aired out all his dirty laundry in public.
Herschel Walker later tweeted, “I love my son no matter what.”
