At a campaign event held over the weekend, Republican candidate Herschel Walker shared with the crowd his understanding of air pollution. He said that America has the cleanest air and water in the world. Explaining the reason behind the pollution, Walker said that as Americans cannot control air, the good air of America floats over to China. So, Beijing gets good air of the US and its bad air moves to the US. Now, Americans are forced to clean China’s bad air, which has entered US airspace.

The crowd chuckled at Walker’s explanation of air pollution, showing the limited knowledge that the candidate seemingly has.

In 2021, according to reports by IQAir, the air pollution levels in the USA exceeded the standard WHO guidelines by 2 to 3 times. Out of 6457 cities that IQAir analysed, only 222 had an average air quality meeting WHO’s guidelines.

Walker used his theory to discredit the Green New Deal investment, which, according to him, would be a complete waste of money. He stated that, with the investment, the US would funnel billions of dollars into cleaning US’s good air while India and China would sit back and benefit. This statement by Walker was criticised as it was incorrect and bigoted.

Reportedly, Walker is not very popular among his aides, who do not trust him. They believe that lying comes as naturally to him as breathing. His aides told him about the reports of a second child that he secretly fathered. Walker, however, claimed that the reports were false even though his aides had proof.

Walker’s aides describe him as a pathological liar, who cannot be trusted. Walker claimed that he owned a virus-killing spray in the pandemic before the vaccines were available. His lies also became apparent on his campaign trail when he said that he had completed his graduation from the University of Georgia. He also claimed to be the class valedictorian and in the top 1% in graduation.

Herschel Walker has been featured in the College Hall of Fame and has earned an endorsement from ex-President Donald Trump. He has also been involved in violent episodes of his marital life, as his ex-wife, Cindy claimed that Walker held a gun to her head, which he denied saying he had blackouts and memory loss issues and did not remember those episodes.
