Rep. Mo Brooks willing to testify in public after January 6 committee redoing subpoena
Alabama Republican Mo Brooks has finally expressed his will to testify only in public after the House select committee on January 6, 2021’s Capitol riot was ready to redo the subpoena.

The Republican Lawmaker clarified his intentions of making it a public affair so that it remains in the interests of the public. He stated that he is willing to testify about the January 6 incident and will check all the required copies in advance.
The House select committee has been investigating the Capitol riot of January 6, 2021. The chairman of the House select committee already informed reporters on Wednesday that they had reissued a subpoena for Rep. Mo Brooks as he failed to serve the initial subpoena. The committee announced subpoenas for Alabama’s Republican along with four other Republicans last month. Among them, Brooks is left to be served with one as he had been occupied with the campaign for Alabama’s GOP Senate nomination. The Republican lost in the runoff on Tuesday.
Committee Chairman Bennie Thompson also informed reporters that since Brooks was the only member they had not been able to serve, they attempted the process of either redoing the session or walking out the door.
Brooks has already presented various conditions that are required to be fulfilled for him to testify before the committee. One of the conditions also includes that only lawmakers from the panel can question him publicly.
Brooks also termed the committee a “witch hunt”. At the same time, he speculated that Speaker Nancy Pelosi intended to hinder the testifying session with a Republican primary election for the Senate in Alabama. In the runoff, Brooks lost to Katie Britt.
Moreover, this is not the first time the struggle to reach Brooks to serve him is taking place. Earlier, Brooks had been served by a lawsuit regarding the Capitol riot case by Rep. Eric Swalwell (D-Calif.) and his legal team, where the officials tried to find him for months.
