Renowned producer-cum-director Jules Bass dies at age of 87
Jules Bass was known for his work on holiday stop-motion and animated programmes, including "Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer" and "Frosty the Snowman."

The publicist informed Entertainment Weekly that Bass breathed his last on October 25. However, the cause of death was not released.
Jules Bass was also a composer and animator. He was best known for his stop-motion and animated TV programmes. Bass, along with his partner Arthur Rankin Jr, developed popular holiday programmes featuring the talents of Fred Astaire, Mickey Rooney and Burl Ives.
The duo developed hit programmes under the company Rankin/Bass Animated Entertainment. They first produced the TV series "The New Adventures of Pinocchio" in 1960.
However, they shot to fame following their holiday classics, which include the following projects:
- "Santa Claus Is Comin' to Town"
- "Frosty the Snowman"
- "Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer"
- "Rudolph's Shiny New Year"
