The Red Hot Chili Peppers have announced that they will halt the tour for the next six weeks due to an injury to a member of the band. The popular band did not specify the name of the band member in question or elaborate on what was the injury or how serious it was

Announcing the news on Instagram, the Grammy-award winning alternative rock band said it would not be performing at KROQ's Almost Acoustic Christmas in Los Angeles this weekend.

The group was slated to be the main act at the yearly concert, which includes other performances by The Offspring, Garbage, Portugal, The Man, Bleachers, Cannons, LoveJoy, Bakar, and The Beaches. Ticketmaster is offering refunds for the KROQ Almost Acoustic Christmas show for a 48-hour period.


The band intends to resume live performances on March 2, 2024, at the Kia Forum arena in Inglewood, California.

"So, have a great time this weekend and hang on to your ticket," the statement released by Red Hot Chili Peppers on Instagram read.

The group has just revealed plans to extend its "Unlimited Love" tour into 2024, expanding to additional cities and incorporating special guests such as Kid Cudi, Ice Cube, Ken Carson, and others. The extended tour is scheduled to kick off in May and continue through July.
