1. Ford Recalls 2020-2022 Explorer SUVs
Ford is recalling a total of 238,364 units of its 2020-2022 Explorer vehicles due to a significant safety concern. The recall has been initiated because of a potential issue with the rear axle horizontal mounting bolt. In some cases, this bolt may fracture, leading to the disconnection of the driveshaft. When the driveshaft disconnects, it can result in a loss of drive power, potentially causing a vehicle rollaway if the parking brake is not engaged. Both scenarios significantly increase the risk of a possible crash, as reported by the NHTSA.

Furthermore, they will inspect the rear axle cover near the bolt-hole location and replace it if necessary. Notification letters will be sent to affected owners on November 6, 2023.
