'Receiver': All you may like to know about Netflix's docuseries

Encouraged by the success of the docuseries 'Quarterback', Netflix has announced the creation of another football-based series 'Receiver'. It has roped in Davante Adams of the Las Vegas Raiders, Justin Jefferson of the Minnesota Vikings, George Kittle, Deebo Samuel of the San Francisco 49ers and Amon-Ra St. Brown of the Detroit Lions to make the series genuine and full of professional integrity. To make this rugby-based docuseries, NFL Films has collaborated with NFL Hall of Famer Peyton Manning‘s Omaha Productions and Super Bowl MVP Patrick Mahomes 2PM Productions.

Release Date

Netflix's football-based docuseries will have eight 45-minute episodes. 'Receiver' is most likely to premiere in summer this year. It is being executive produced by Manning and Jamie Horowitz for Omaha Productions; Ross Ketover, Pat Kelleher and Keith Cossrow for NFL Films; and Mahomes from 2PM Productions.

Talking to 'The Hollywood Reporter', Gabe Spitzer, VP, of Nonfiction Sports at Netflix said that NFL Films and Omaha Productions have delivered again in finding unique and dynamic athletes who will further highlight the drama of this sport on and off the field.

Five incredible receivers

According to the entertainment news outlet, Peyton Manning said in a statement, "As we did with 'Quarterback', we look forward to telling the stories of five incredible receivers, each with their unique personality, skillset, and motivation for what drives them to be the best."

Out of the five receivers roped by Netflix, Amon-Ra St. Brown experienced the most impressive 2023 season with 119 passes for 1,515 yards and 10 touchdowns in 16 games for the Lions. Lions won the NFC North for the first time since 1993.

Earlier, Netflix has made docuseries focused on other sports and focused on the daily lives of the athletes who participate in them, such as golf (Full Swing), Formula 1 (Drive to Survive), tennis (BreakPoint), wrestling (Wrestlers), and Nascar (Full Speed).
