It's a must-win game for Real Madrid as the Spanish giants are badly in need of a victory, to keep their FIFA Club World Cup hopes alive, when they take on Mexico’s Pachuca on Sunday night.

Xabi Alonso’s side were held to a 1-1 draw in their opening match against Al Hilal, with Gonzalo Garcia scoring early before Ruben Neves leveled from the penalty spot.

A win would put Real through to a knockout clash against Salzburg, while a defeat could effectively end their tournament run and shift focus back to domestic campaigns.


Pachuca, meanwhile, are in a must-win situation after a loss to Salzburg and risk elimination with another setback.

Adding to Real’s challenges, star forward Kylian Mbappe is likely to miss the match after being hospitalised with gastroenteritis in the lead-up to the game.
