Former Real Madrid star Xabi Alonso will begin his managerial tenure with the Spanish giants as they kick off their FIFA Club World Cup campaign against Saudi Arabia’s Al Hilal on Wednesday night at the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens, Florida.

This marks just the second meeting between the two sides, with the first being a memorable clash in the 2023 FIFA Club World Cup final - then held under its previous, smaller format.
