Deadline confirmed that Christopher Rodriguez-Marquette has taken over the role. Rodriguez-Marquette is recognized for his appearances in Barry and RZR. He was reportedly cast the same day the role became available and joined the set within days.

Rodriguez-Marquette will play Jacob Merrick, a police officer from a small town. The role is expected to have significant involvement in the story. Season 4 is based on Gone Tomorrow, the 13th novel in Lee Child’s Jack Reacher series. The story begins when Reacher meets a stranger on a train, leading him into a dangerous situation.

This season continues the character's journey as he faces new enemies with strong influence and resources. Alan Ritchson returns as Jack Reacher. He also serves as one of the executive producers of the series.

Season 3, which premiered in February 2025, became the most-watched returning series for Prime Video. The season focused on Reacher taking on a drug operation while going undercover and dealing with a person from his past.

Christopher Rodriguez-Marquette recently played a role in the HBO series Barry. He also completed filming for Grind, a horror anthology film.
