In a significant development, the 60-year-old Duane Keith Davis who allegedly behind the killing of iconic rapper Tupac Shakur is set to face a murder charge in court.

Duane Keith Davis has been accused of being the mastermind of this shooting.

However, Davis may plead not guilty to the murder charges during the hearing.

Clark County District Attorney Steve Wolfson while briefing a news conference said that Davis is considered innocent until proven otherwise.

The investigation into Shakur's slaying spanned decades, culminating in Davis' arrest following a grand jury indictment. He stands as the sole surviving suspect in this long-standing case. Substantial physical evidence recovered from Davis' residence, along with recent witness testimonies, are expected to play a crucial role in the trial.

The narrative surrounding Shakur's tragic demise implicates Davis as the alleged mastermind behind the plot. Authorities assert that the shooting was a retaliatory act against Davis' nephew, Orlando Anderson, following a larger conflict between rival gangs in Compton, California.

The fatal incident occurred while Shakur was in Las Vegas to witness a boxing match of Mike Tyson, an event attended by both Davis and his nephew.

After an altercation at the MGM Grand Hotel, Davis formulated a plan to obtain a firearm and seek retribution against Suge Knight and Mr. Shakur.

He, along with accomplices, embarked on the fateful journey in a white Cadillac. Davis, positioned in the front seat, is believed to have provided the weapon to the back-seat passengers. Tragically, someone in the vehicle discharged the firearm, resulting in Shakur sustaining four gunshot wounds. He passed away six days later.

The investigation was started again in 2018, partly due to Davis' own admissions, marking a final attempt to resolve the case.
