Rapper Lil Sodi, an upcoming artist in LA with ties to the Eight Tray Gangster Crips street gang, has died. Here’s what happened.

Who was Lil Sodi?
Lil Sodi, whose real name is Madsodi Simpson, was a Los Angeles-based rapper. He first began making music while serving time in the California Division of Juvenile Justice. He joined Young Jeezy’s music label Corporate Thug Entertainment.

He was a member of the street gang called Eight Tray Gangster Crips also known as 83 Gangster Crips or Eight Tray Gangsters. The rapper was known more for his beef with people than his music, although he was talented.
Lil Sodi gained some fame after the 100 Entertainment record label founded by Bigfase 100 signed him. Lil Sodi was named after his father, Big Sodi, who was also a member of the Crips gang.
Lil Sodi went on to collaborate with artists such as Suga Buga, Compton Menace, P-Smurf, and Spider Loc. His projects include Chevy Music and The Best of Both Rags.
