The song "First Class" was also awarded as the song of the summer at the award show. While expressing his feeling about the song, Harlow stated that people did not realize that "First Class" belonged to the genre of hip-hop because of Fergie's sampling. The song "Glamourous" was one of his favorite childhood songs, added the rapper.
Jack Harlow was also called upon the stage to collect the award that he won for making a guest appearance in the song "Industry Baby" by Lil Nas X. The song won for the best collaboration. Interestingly, both Lil Nas X and Jack Harlow tied for securing the same number of nominations at the award show. Both singers were nominated for seven categories each. The song, which was the outcome of the collaboration, has also topped several charts.
Nicki Minaj also presented a dazzling performance at the award show. She performed on "Roman's Revenge," "Moments 4 Life," "Chun-Li," "Super Bass," and "Anaconda." Minaj won the Video Vanguard Award at the show. The award is named after music legend Michael Jackson.
