R. Kelly: US Judge drops charges against R&B singer

A judge has dropped certain charges against R&B singer R. Kelly.

A judge has rejected charges against R&B singer R. Kelly. The judge made the decision on Tuesday following a Chicago prosecutor recommended to do so.

The brief hearing took place after Cook County State's Attorney Kim Foxx conveyed that she was ready to drop the sex-abuse charges since Kelly would eventually spend several years in prison owing to separate convictions from the federal court.

Kelly was accused of sexual abuse of four Chicago residents, three of them were mirrors. Judge Lawrence Flood rejected the indictments.


Kelly has been convicted by Federal juries in New York and Chicago of a number of crimes. These include racketeering, enticement, and sex trafficking. There were allegations of child adult filming against Kelly.

Who is R&B singer R. Kelly?

R. Kelly was born as Robert Sylvester Kelly. He was serving 30-year imprisonment in connection with New York case. Kelly is also awaiting verdict from Chicago federal court on February 23.

Earlier in 2008, Kelly was acquitted of several charges.
